Introduction
This webpage presents the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the issue of lack of ICT Skills in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) area, created by Group #7. Our group applied the 5 Why's technique to identify the underlying reasons why some students lack ICT skills.
SOLUTIONS
Proposed Solutions
Main Problem
Lack of ICT
1. Provide ICT Training and Workshops
- Offer regular hands-on ICT sessions that teach basic computer use, typing skills, document creation, and online navigation.
- Create after-school or weekend ICT workshops for students who need extra support.
2. Improve Access to Devices and Technology
- Ensure students have access to functional computers, tablets, or laptops during school hours.
- Set up ICT labs with updated software and tools.
3. Strengthen Teacher and Student Support Systems
- Train teachers to integrate ICT effectively in lessons.
- Create peer-learning groups where advanced students help classmates.
4. Invest in ICT Infrastructure
- Improve internet connectivity in the school.
- Upgrade computer hardware and provide technical maintenance to avoid interruptions.
5. Promote Continuous Digital Practice
- encourage students to practice using basic apps at home (like Word, PowerPoint, Google Classroom).
- Integrate ICT tasks into various subjects so students use technology more frequently.
Conclusion
Overall, our goal is to create a supportive ICT environment by improving skills, increasing access to technology, training teachers, and encouraging regular digital practice. These strategies help create a more inclusive, technology-ready school community that empowers both students and teachers to use ICT confidently and effectively.
